REQUIREMENTS

 

FOR SELLING A VEHICLE OUT-OF-STATE

 

 

 

 

If a vehicle is being sold out-of-state, the owner of the vehicle must do the following:

 

  • Complete the Transfer of Title by Owner(s)/Buyer(s) sections (top and bottom) on the back of the Kentucky title. These signatures must be notarized with a state seal.
  • Print name and address of the buyer/transferee
  • Correct odometer reading is required
  • Date of sale/transfer

 

To ensure the vehicle is removed from the Kentucky Tax Records please return a copy of the front and back of the title completely filled out and notarized with BOTH the owner(s) and buyer(s) information notarized.

 

If the current year taxes have not been paid, they will be due at the time of the cancellation process. This can be done at any of any of our three locations.
